The plan will be announced soon, the source stated.

According to the source, the Urban Development Plan for Egypt 2052 has identified the necessity of establishing several new sustainable, smart cities of the fourth generation.

Each city, which should be able to attract several million residents, would rely on tourism activities, recreational services, advanced technological industries, commercial purposes, and administrative centres for international companies. It would also provide excellent educational and healthcare services, said the source.

These cities include Al-Alamein City, Ras El-Hikma, Al-Nagila, and Jarjoub. In addition, the government's plan includes developing existing cities, such as Marsa Matrouh and Salloum.

The source clarified that the plan prioritizes the comprehensive urban development of the Northwestern Coastal area, which the Egyptian state believes to be most suitable for accommodating Egypt's future population increase.

The area's distinctive economic activities would provide job opportunities for many Egyptian youth in the coming decades and contribute to expanding the developed area.

According to the plan, work is underway to finalize the development of Ras El-Hikma City, the second to be developed after Al-Alamein City.

Ras El-Hikma will be developed through partnerships with global entities with extensive technical expertise and enormous financial capabilities. This would enable the state to position the city on the international tourism map within no more than five years as one of the finest tourist destinations on the Mediterranean Sea and the world.
