The MoU entails creating an intensive training programme for IDSC personnel within the framework of a comprehensive plan for digitizing the centre's services, according to IDSC Chairman Osama El-Gohary,

El-Gohary noted that another goal of the partnership with Microsoft is to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) technology into the IDSC's operations.

The MoU with the IDSC will act as a springboard for a more substantial cooperation with the centre, according to Mirna Arif, General Manager of Microsoft Egypt.

The IDSC was established in 1985 and serves as the cabinet's think tank. Supporting decision-makers with regard to economic, social, and political issues is its primary duty.

Egypt has made significant progress in recent years towards digitalization. The country inked 29 agreements with foreign businesses, including IBM, Amazon, Microsoft, and Dell Technologies, in December 2022 to establish outsourcing centres there, which were projected to increase Egypt's digital exports by $1 billion by 2025 and generate more than 34,000 jobs.
