Egypt, Italian firm in new power plant deal

The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation and the Italian Edison Company have inked an agreement for establishing a new power plant.

The proposed plant will be built to add 180 megawatts to the national power grid, according to a government statement on Monday.

The plant would require an investment cost of $300 million according to the deal.
