Industry Minister: Improving national economy high priority

Minister of Industry, Trade and Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises Munir Fakhry Abdel Nour said on Tuesday 18/6/2014 that improving the national economy is a high priority for his ministry during the coming period.

"The ministry will work on creating the appropriate climate to lure local and foreign investments, upgrading the competitiveness of the Egyptian products and providing the highly skilled workers," Abdel Nour said after being sworn in before President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

He added that the ministry was assigned to be in charge of the small- and medium-sized enterprises, which is one of the most influential sectors in the Egyptian economy.

"The ministry will be authorized by the cabinet to supervise the Social Fund for Development," he said.
