Beni-Suef University the best in Egypt

9 Egyptian universities are among the top 31 universities in the Arab world, ranked by Times World Universities ranking.

9 Egyptian universities made it to the ranking of the best universities in the Arab world in 2018 which included 31 universities.

The ranking was made by the Times Higher Education World University Ranking.

Beni-Suef university came at number 10 among the Arab ones and at number 1 among Egyptian universities.
Closely at number 11 came the American University in Cairo while Suez Canal university came at number 16.

Cairo University came at number 17 with Mansoura right after it at number 18.

The list also included the universities of Alexandria (21), Ain-Shams university (23), South Valley University (24) and Assiut University(26).

The best university in the Arab world was King Abdulaziz University that was established in 1967. While the last on the list was the Hashmite university in Jordan.

Universities are ranked based on the research contribution, the learning environment, the research influence and citations and research income and reputation. This is why universities with a solid financial support to research and researchers made it to the top of list, out of the top 10 universities 4 are in Saudi, 2 are in UAE and one is in Qatar.
