In a move to ease the burden on Christians during their upcoming holidays, the Egyptian Cabinet has decided to suspend electricity outages. This decision mirrors the measures taken during the holy month of Ramadan.

“The Council of Ministers has decided to suspend load shedding nationwide during the Coptic holidays,” the official spokesperson for the Cabinet Mohamed al-Homosani announced in previous statements.

In a phone call with journalist Ahmed Mousa, the spokesperson added that the Ministry of Electricity had previously taken into account student exams and that coordination would take place between the ministries of electricity and education for the upcoming exams.

The state’s goal is to ultimately eliminate load shedding, he assured, and that the current electricity grid is capable of meeting Egypt’s electricity needs.
