Egypt, Belarus sign MoUs to promote bilateral trade, investments

The signing took place during the current visit of Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko to Cairo, the first-ever visit by a Belarusian PM to Egypt.


PM Mostafa Madbouly, PM Golovchenko, and relevant ministers and business figures from both countries also attended the Egypt-Belarus Business Forum in the New Administrative Capital.


The Egyptian Customs Authority and Belarus’ Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade signed an agreement to enhance the mutual trade system between both countries.


The agreement aims to protect and develop the economic interests of both countries and enhance the efficiency of customs control over goods and vehicles exchanged between them, said the Egyptian cabinet.


As per the deal, a pilot project will be implemented to exchange information on the movement of goods and vehicles between the two countries for 12 months.


Moreover, the two countries have signed an MoU for bilateral cooperation in terms of investment.


Relevant authorities in Egypt and Belarus will exchange expertise to enhance the business climate and achieve the sustainable development goals of both nations.


The MoU will encourage the exchange of information regarding investment opportunities, laws, regulations, and policies, making them available for business circles in both countries.
